Episode LVII: California

I have recently returned from my third annual wintertime trip to Southern California, where I had a very nice time at home with friends and family.

On this particular trip I was able to relax quite a bit, as I had no oral prelims for which I had to prepare, no classes for which I needed to gear up, and no homework or projects to complete. In other words, for the first time in a while, I was completely free and easy. Therefore I would say one of the most important things I accomplished in California was: taking it easy.

One of the major events of the stay was a family trip up to a cabin in the Lake Gregory area (as seen in photos above and below), where we had a very nice, relaxing time.

Also, of course, was the big family shindig at Grandma’s. It was a lot of fun, and we got plenty of cute presents, such as this Cabbage Patch doll:

And an interesting assortment of head attire for the ladies:

And, as if that wasn't enough, there were even more reasons to celebrate, including Brian's birthday (his second)...

...and, of course the new year! It was a pleasure to see everyone throughout the trip and I had a very nice time. Hope to see all of you Californians again soon.

Eh, all three were taken near Gregory.
