Episode XCIII: Excitement on the Coast

As many of you know, I recently returned from a very eventful trip to The West Coast to see my sister get married. I brought along my girlfriend, who has never been west of The Rockies, so we had a good time introducing her to California, including palm tree after palm tree after palm tree.

The main event- the wedding- was of course lovely.

After the wedding, Meg and I did all sorts of neat things. We toured L.A…

With the top down...

"Thanks for the car, Kyle!" says Meg on her first-ever top-down ride

Celebrated her birthday…

Rode bikes with the Norrises...

Frolicked on the beach…

Watched the sunset...

And got engaged!

He's about to pop the question!

No, we don’t have definite wedding plans. But we’ll let you know when we do!

The other main excitement after that was, Meg and I decided where we would like to live for the next few years- we have decided to go to Cambridge, where I will accept the postdoctoral offer I have received at Harvard University. We think this will be a good place for me to go to position myself for a good career in science, and it also affords Meg many good opportunities for excellent graduate schools to apply to. And finally, we hope it will be a good first adventure of our lives together.

That’s about all the details I know right now, about getting married and about moving/working. I’ll let you know more as time goes by.
