I just completed TWO (2!) separate trips to SoCal in the span
of one month. Trip 1 was a wedding trip. I arrived in time to see my cousin
Lindsay get married:
And I stayed long enough to see my brother get married:
Kyle, Chris and I threw Brian a bachelor party the night before the wedding. Here's a video recap in case you missed it:
This was Brian's Bachelor Party.

Both weddings were lovely, and it was also nice to see so
many family and friends at both events. In between those weddings, we piddled
around SoCal a bit. Notably, members of the Norris family took a trip to Santa
Cruz island, where we went hiking and snorkeling.

This is a particularly notable event in Meg’s life, because
she is deathly afraid of
ocean-dwelling creatures, especially whales, sharks, rays and all other
ocean-dwelling creatures. But she was game! She even went out and did some
snorkeling with us…
[Or should I say, she “did some snorkeling”]
My second trip to SoCal was for the 20th
International C. elegans Scientific Conference held at UCLA. It was a good
meeting, I met a lot of folks and learned a lot. I also had the opportunity to
have some fun, including a break-in to the Bel Air Country Club and a visit to
a local Top Chef restaurant.

I went through quite a few hairstyles last month,
due to various wedding requirements in conjunction with my traditional semi-annual haircut. Below
you can track my evolution from wolf to man.

1.) That sea lion was SO HUGE
2.) I count it as standing-up-while-snorkling
3.) Wow, your beard was big! You don't realize it as much when you see it everyday.
