All throughout the pandemic the grandparents have been itching to come visit Elliot, and they were finally able to do so this week.
While the grandparents spoiled Elliot at home, Meg and I took a two-day "babymoon" trip out to El Paso, TX and Las Cruces, NM. Here we are on a mountainside overlooking El Paso (foreground) and Ciudad Juárez, Mexico (background).
And here we are having a picnic, just a few hundred feet away from the US/Mexico border wall!
We drove up to New Mexico to visit the newest U.S. National Park, White Sands National Park.
After driving our (rental) car down a road made of gypsum sand...
...we found ourselves in a remote desert wasteland (though it looks surprisingly like a winter wonderland).
What is that strange-looking figure way off in the distance? |
It's Meg. |
Meanwhile Elliot was having the time of his life: hanging out at the playground, reading books with Grandpa and Grandma, and setting up his cool new racetrack.
