Episode XC: Megan

A certain someone named “Meg” has been appearing in some of my blog posts recently, but I am afraid I have not properly introduced her. Allow me, then, to introduce to you my girlfriend, my darling, my sweetheart: Megan Razak.

(She's the one on the right)

I met Meg when she started working in the same lab as me as an undergraduate researcher, thus breaking one of the fundamental laws of relationships, namely, to never date a co-worker.

(See? Lab outing. Both Adam and Megan present. Conflict of interest!)

Here are some things about Meg:

She’s a very good artist, as well as a good maker of crocheted things. Here is a sampling of her work.

(Self-portrait)

Meg is also very smart. In fact, she’s so smart that sometimes I get nervous she might be smarter than me and then I would have to break up with her. For instance, not to toot her own horn too much, but I will just a bit- she decided to take the MCAT, spent a couple weeks studying for it, got an insanely high score on it, and then decided she didn’t want to go to medical school anyway. See? How can I possibly date someone that smart?

(Meg caught smartly explaining her research at a conference)

And of course, without getting too deep into the details, I think that she is beautiful. For one, she has a smile which I’m pretty sure could cure a dozen known illnesses. And that’s all the more I’ll say about that subject for fear of getting cooties.

(See? Look at that smile. Don't you feel better already?)

What else? She’s athletic. She can run longer distances than I can even stand to think about, she’s good at soccer, and is a rec league all-star for her dodgeball team.

She also fits well with my personality (that is to say, puts up with just about anything I do)- she enjoys going to my concerts, she likes watching my volleyball games, she can stomach my constant sarcasm and silliness, she likes watching Lakers games, and the list goes on...

Finally, she has been searching for a spiritual home and Spiritual Truth, and she has found it. Just last month she was baptized into Christ right here in Lawrence. And she is already inspiring others in a variety of ways, including through her very own blog that she has been keeping located here.

And finally finally. Yes, I made it through the entire post without including a single eewie picture of us smooching, but here’s one that comes close. Salud!

(We're sharing a romantic barbecue turkey leg meal)
