Episode XCII: Becoming a professional

Ladies and gentlemen. It has been many, many long years, but Adam Norris has finally reached the end of the road: there is no more schooling remaining- he has reached his terminal degree. It has been a long road, and a fun one. But now it is over.

And now he must become an adult; a professional.

Graduation was this weekend (thus the previous photos). Here is a video of my official doctoral "hooding". I am preceded by my colleague Kellen Voss, and succeeded by Rafael, who you should all know.

The day after our commencement exercises, I headed out to the second of my two major postdoctoral interviews at Harvard (don't worry folks, I have relegated the Germany option to back-burner status.) I will probably choose between these two places, as I am happy with them both.

Summary of my two trips so far-

Novato, CA: the city was lovely, the lab was exciting, and the building I would work in was new, modern and beautiful.

Cambridge, MA: the city was lovely, the lab was exciting, and the building I would work in was new, modern and beautiful.

I am writing this brief update from the Boston (Logan) airport. Next I return to Lawrence in time to pack, do a couple things in lab, and then fly to California to see my sister's wedding. I'll see many of you out there!
