I recently returned from my second of two trips to California in the span of one month. The first trip was for the funeral of my grandma, Lois Norris, who recently passed away at the age of 87. It was a lovely funeral for a lovely lady, and a confirmation that she truly lived her life as the archetype of "the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit."
Kyle put together a slideshow of a lot of great pictures for the memorial service. Here are a few of my favorites:

A mere week-and-a-half later I took a second trip home to celebrate Thanksgiving with the family, and it was a good time.
My wife likes trees, and we gave her an ideal vacation: first we toured the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden, where, among other native plants, we saw this ridiculous-looking Boojum Tree:
Later we took a trip to Sequoia and King's Canyon National Parks, where Meg got to see her first Sequoia trees:

Finally, we celebrated Thanksgiving, with both sides of the family. This was probably my first time spending Thanksgiving at home since 2007 (that's 8 years ago!) and it was real nice to see everyone.
